PARTNERSHIPS

Collaborations with University Medical Schools

Besides the medical consultations done by our contracted physicians, The Karagheusian Primary healthcare center provides a complete and unique climate for academic and clinical teaching opportunities through the residents’ clinics in affiliation with multiple medical schools.

Besides the already existing 4 Medical Schools, two new medical schools were interested to collaborate with us in 2019:

The Lebanese University (LU) through their department of Family Medicine and Beirut Arab University (BAU) through the shadowing rotations of their undergraduate medical students.

So now we have 6 out of 7 medical schools in Lebanon that are already collaborating with The Karagheusian Primary Healthcare Center:

1. American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC), Family Medicine and Obstetrics and Gynecology departments

2. Balamand University (BU), Family Medicine department

3. Lebanese University (LU), Family Medicine department

4. Universite Saint Joseph (USJ), Pediatric and Dental departments

5. Lebanese American University (LAU),  Ophthalmology department

6. Beirut Arab University through the clinical rotation of their undergraduate medical students

These collaborations expand the Association’s capacity to treat more patients per day, providing them with timely quality of care. We can also refer more special or critical cases to these prestigious medical schools and collaborate on treatment plans. Five of our units are benefiting from this association: Family Medicine; Pediatric and Vaccination; OB-GYN; Dental; and Ophthalmology.

The universities send their residents and students to work and learn in our Center.

Their daily presence enables the organization to receive more patients by having daily morning and afternoon clinics, to provide them with timely quality of care, and more importantly to open collaborative opportunities to the special or critical cases, in cooperation with these prestigious medical schools.

Five departments are benefiting from this collaboration: Family Medicine Unit, Pediatric & Vaccination Unit, OB-GYN Unit, Dental Unit and Ophthalmology Unit.
